WHERE: 4622 Drayton Harbor Road, Blaine, WA  98230

Google Maps shows the location pretty well. From Blaine Rd, go west on Drayton Harbor Rd (there’s a gas station at the intersection). Immediately BEFORE the little bridge, turn RIGHT into the gravel driveway. Follow it into the trees; it will curve left, then right, and then on your left you’ll see an open metal gate and a dirt driveway. That’s us! Follow to the end and find parking. (Or if there’s no parking, you can park just outside the gate; there’s a wide spot that will serve.)

SLEEP: You can bring a tent and such, if you wish. There are also two single beds available in the guest room, and two single beds on the porch. Also a hide-a-bed in the living room.

PAT: we have sheets and blankets you can use on one of the single beds.

FOOD:

This year, I’m thinking we’ll do things a little different. Breakfast will still be your own choice. We’ll have coffee and half & half available, but whatever else you’d like is up to you.

Lunch and dinner, I’m thinking, will be a group effort.

I’ll provide the Drink of the Day and the dinner entrees, and the members of UK can choose what meals or courses they want to take on. Working in small groups might make it easier, but it’s up to you guys. Below is a rough beginning to organizing it. Discuss on the Cabin Weekend event page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/1663243180579297/, or email me. All you need to do at this point is sign up for a slot; you don’t need to know WHAT you’ll bring/make.

And remember, there are grocery stores nearby. You don’t have to pack up loads of food from home.

  2. Denise & David says:

    We will also bring wine.

And Tachos (tator tots with nacho fixings) for one of the appetizers (Sunday)

  3. Mike & Nancy says:

Nancy and I will bring some stuff for lunch on Saturday. Need to know the count. We’ll also bring a side dish and dessert for Saturday night. Once it gets closer, can fill in other spots as needed when we know what’s missing.

  4. Christy & Jamie says:

We’ll definitely provide a super-fresh watermelon, mint & lime salad for Sunday brunch. Am happy to also bring rosemary cashews as a snack for Friday afternoon. Something else (or 2) that I’ll mull over for the next few days…

    Oh, and the limocello. 🙂

  5. Christy & Jamie says:

Oooh–we can make some tomalito (steamed corn “pudding” (for lack of a better word) as a side for the flank steak…. and/or a corn and black bean salad….

  6. Pat says:

So, it looks like I’m bringing sides for Friday and Sunday dinner. Now I just need to decide what fits within my skill set in the kitchen.

    God help us all…

  7. lisa says:

You could do something easy like corn on the cob (and butter) for Friday dinner. And you may luck out on Sunday, and have someone else step up to take care of a side; there a are a few other people who haven’t claimed a dish yet.

  8. Pat says:

I shall ponder upon it… Also thinking possibly some biscuits, if they fit somewhere in the schedule. Once upon a time, I was known to make some biscuits…

  9. Christy says:

Adding hummus, veggies and pita chips to the Friday snack/app.
Sat. dinner sides are Corn Tomalito (warm), and a Quinoa & Black Bean salad (cold).

LMK if you see any major holes that need filling, and I’ll see what I can do. -cg
