News

I'm presently working on a book for middle grade kids; yeah, I know, complete change of pace!

The Second Lisa & Clark Expedition

Our 2014 road trip from Los Angeles to Seattle starts here. Follow along as I pitch a movie to Paramount Animation, look for dead whales, and debate whether a lighthouse is haunted by a ghost or just a really powerful living cat.

Oh yeah, we'll look for car stuff for Clark, too.

Dragonfly, oh my

Our neighborhood painted a fantastic dragonfly mural on our street (co-designed by me!); help support the annual repainting by buying Dragonfly Gear at Zazzle. All profits (15% of purchase price) will go towards funding the repainting of the dragonfly, a task we'll be looking forward to every summer.

Read more about the project HERE. Scroll down, and you'll find a cool time-lapse video of the painting.

Looking for a modern gothic series? Try Melanie Jackson's "Wendover House Mysteries," starting with "The Secret Staircase."

Tapestries and pagan rituals, and an intertwining of past and present in Lisa Costantino's "Maiden's Veil." Give it a read!

Help for Writers

"Writing Your Way: Creating a Writing Process That Works for You" by Don Fry is scheduled for release in March, 2012, from Writer's Digest Books. I took a writing workshop from Don, and promise you that his book will be excellent.

Great Aunt Sophia's Lessons for Bombshells

Grace Cavanaugh thinks she's in for an easy, lazy summer when she takes a job as companion to her great aunt Sophia in Pebble Beach. She'll dab spittle from her aunt's chin, watch 'Animal Planet', and work on her dissertation for her PhD in Women's Studies.

But Sophia has other plans. With a tart tongue that would put Bette Davis to shame, Sophia sets about transforming her dumpy great-niece into a copy of the B-movie bombshell Sophia once was, and in the process teaches her a thing or two about men, sexual liberation, and power.

Caught in Sophia's web along with Grace are Declan O'Brien, the college football star turned financial advisor, and Dr. Andrew Pritchard, Sophia's dewy-cheeked personal physician. Declan makes Grace's body melt, but it's Andrew who seems to be on her same mental wavelength.

By the time the summer's over, though, Grace isn't going to know whether she's a scholar or a bombshell, or maybe a little bit of both.

Young Adult Paranormal Romance

Wake Unto Me

Wake Unto Me, by Lisa Cach
Caitlyn Monahan knows she belongs somewhere else. It’s what her dead mother’s note suggested, and it’s what her recurring nightmares allude to. Desperate to flee these terrifying dreams—and her small town—she accepts a spot at a boarding school in France. Only, when she arrives, her nightmares get worse.

But then there are her amazing dreams, so vivid and so real, with visits from an alluring, mysterious, and gorgeous Italian boy from the 1500s. Caitlyn knows they are soul mates, but how can she be in love with someone who exists only in her dreams?

Then, as her reality and dream world collide, Caitlyn searches for the real reason why she was brought to this school. And what she discovers will change her life forever.

Oldies but Goodies

I got the rights back to several of my romances, and have been working on putting them up for sale. Some favorites:

The Changeling Bride

The book that started it all.
Elle (and her faithful dog Tatiana) travels back in time to 1790s England and meets the love her life…. and the horrors of 18th century plumbing.

George and the Virgin

Now known as: The Dragon, the Virgin, and George

I changed the title because I'd gotten so many complaints about the original one. Anyway, this is one of my favorite books, about a professional wrestler who tries to solve his emotional issues through a "guided imagery" exercise that ends up sending him back through time to rescue a very reluctant virgin from her dragon.

The Mermaid of Penperro

When people ask me what my favorite book of mine is, this is the one I name. Despite the mermaid in the title, it's a straight historical, not a paranormal. And of course, it's a comedy.

Konstanze is hiding out in Cornwall, where she gets hired by a charming smuggler to play "mermaid" in order to distract the King's men.
