Cassoulet is French comfort food: beans, duck, sausages, and pork cooked together into a tasty bit of heaven. Recipes are regional, and seem to be as hotly contested as mac & cheese in the US. A friend and I tried two different recipes, in hopes of finding one we (and our spouses!) both liked.
